The Gene Krupa Story

The story of legendary jazz drummer, Gene Krupa. Since his youth, all Gene ever wanted to do is play the drums and make music. This is something his parents would not approve of- they want him to be a priest. When Gene's father dies he promises to enter the priesthood. He soon realizes that he doesn't belong there and leaves to join his friend, Eddie's band. Ethel, Eddie's girlfriend, convinces Gene to go to New York and make it big. The 3 of them head to New York. Here Ethel and Gene soon fall in love and Gene makes a name for himself. Gene starts to live in the fast lane, with drugs, alcohol, women and parties. Ethel, unhappy with Gene's lifestyle, leaves him. Gene soon "hits rock bottom" where he has to face reality and choose where to take his life.

Returning wounded from the war Maksym was overcome by self-doubt, in his physiological state. He is undergoing rehabilitation. He loses contact with his wife. He is tormented by dreams. In one of his dreams Maksym goes to the island to catch a lot of fish, as the paramedic advised him. Maksym takes a boat, net, dynamite from the best man and sails to the island.

There Are No Saints

A man is imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. When his wife is murdered and his son kidnapped and taken to Mexico, he devises an elaborate and dangerous plan to rescue his son and avenge the murder.

People

People is a film shot behind closed doors in a workshop/house on the outskirts of Paris and features a dozen characters. It is based on an interweaving of scenes of moaning and sex. The house is the characters' common space, but the question of ownership is distended, they don't all inhabit it in the same way. As the sequences progress, we don't find the same characters but the same interdependent relationships. Through the alternation between lament and sexuality, physical and verbal communication are put on the same level. The film then deconstructs, through its repetitive structure, our relational myths.

Juukou B-Fighter: The Movie

The movie version of Juukou B-Fighter premiered in Japan on April 15, 1995 at the Toei Super Hero Fair '95. It was originally shown as a triple feature alongside Mechanical Violator Hakaider and the feature film version of Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.

Return

Return is a methodical construction of the approach of an individual towards an unseen goal, which assumes metaphorical significance. Viola moves toward the camera/viewer, pausing every few steps to ring a bell, at which point he is momentarily thrust back to his starting place, and then advanced again. Finally reaching his destination, he is taken through all of the previous stages in a single instant and returned to the source of his journey.

The Reunion for Swapping

Hye-won, Hee-jung and Joo-hee are university alumni. Everyone is envious of Hyewon who got married first, Hyewon, who has no marital relationship, is more envious of her unmarried friends. Hee-jeong gives her friend Joo-hee, after being proved by Sekpa Min-woo. Hee-jung has an affair with her boss. Hyewon and Joohee discuss changing husband and lover to try. Joo-hee is flirting with Hye-won's husband. Hye-won is attracting Joo-hee's lover. Couples swapping each other and swapping. They break up, promising to meet again.

The Days Before

In an estate in the South of Algiers, in the middle of the nineties. Djaber and Yamina are neighbours, but do not know each other. For one as for the other, it is so difficult to meet between girls and boys, that they almost stopped dreaming about it. In a few days nevertheless, what was up to then that deaf and distant violence explodes in front of them, modifying for ever their fates.

Viva Sapato!

A light-hearted and high-spirited story, full of spice, sensuality and romance, Viva Zapato tells the tale of Dolores, a beautiful Cuban dancer who decides to leave her failing marriage and open a restaurant by the beach with her aunt from Brazil. When her aunt sends her a pair of shoes instead of the money to start up the restaurant, she angrily sells the useless gift for spare change. Her dream fades away - until she discovers that the money was hidden in the heel. The zany search for the shoes begins, as she follows the footsteps through the lively streets of Havana, running into the quirky, colorful characters that bring Viva Zapato and Dolores' dream.

A Century of Pleasure: History of Hardcore Cinema

A documentary about the first century of pornographic cinema, including extracts from pornograhic films and animated movies. In order to show the evolution of this genre, the film is divided in several parts: "Une préhistoire clandestine" ('a clandestine prehistory'), "Le temps de la libération" ('freedom time'), "L'age d'or du X" ('heyday of porno'), "L'explosion de la vidéo" ('the multiplication of videos') and "Les nouvelles tendances" ('the new tendancies').

The Wiggles: Racing to the Rainbow

Captain Feathersword challenges his friends to a race, to find who can reach the end of the rainbow first. The Captain departs with his crew aboard the S.S. Feathersword, while The Wiggles travel by road in their Big Red Car. Dorothy, Wags and Henry The Octopus take to the air in their giant hot air balloon.
