The Waiting Sands

My grandfather, Harry Bennett was a huge influence on me as a young artist and thinker. He was a painter and had made a living as an illustrator for gothic and romance novels in the 1960s. In the last month of his life, he was omitted to the hospital with terminal conditions. Unable to film him, I began to capture the harvest moon outside his bedroom window as a way to cope with the emotions I was experiencing. A few hours after the footage had been shot, my grandfather passed away. This footage serves as a document of his last breaths.

February 1, the 72% of the census has voted. Narrowly wins "Frente Popular". Since that moment, differences between right and left quickly pass from words to deeds. Soon, a militar conspiracy led by general Mola starts, and get the collaboration of chiefs that the Government of the Republic has shifted to peripheral locations: including Franco. Calvo Sotelo and Lieutenant Castillo are killed. The 'Dragon Rapide' flies from London to pick up Franco. The North African troops raise and the war becomes unstoppable.

CLOSING CONCERT The Jaguar Land Rover Invictus Games Closing Concert will take place on Sunday 14 September at the South lawn of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This star-studded event will mark the conclusion of the Invictus Games presented by Jaguar Land Rover. With a special headlining performance by Foo Fighters, the concert will also feature sets from Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, James Blunt, Diversity and Military Wives Choirs. The 26,000 capacity space will utilise the famous back-drop of the Stadium and The ArcelorMittal Orbit to feature some of the world’s greatest acts, which also includes the medal presentations for the inspirational winning competitors. With doors opening at 2:30pm and the show starting at 4:20pm, the multi-artist event will have highlights broadcast by the BBC.

During the Balkan conflict (1991-2001), between 25,000 and 50,000 women were victims of sexual violence as an ethnic cleansing strategy. However, there is no official figure because many of the victims either did not survive or they now live in silence. This documentary shows the witnesses and their struggle to break the silence and overcome the stigma in a society that still suffers the consequences of war, 25 years later.

Bill Harvey discovers a lost mine, rich with gold. Geraldine "Jerry" Howard has the claim to it left her by her father. Bill tells her that the death of the claimant, her father, makes a claim void. Infuriated, she goes to John Kenton, a crooked lawyer, for aid. Kenton sees an opportunity for wealth if he marries Geraldine, but Bill tells her that Kenton is only after her money. She gets more infuriated. While Bill and a posse are raiding an immoral cabaret, Kenton raids the Paradise freight depot to steal the money. The depot catches fire and Kenton shoots his henchman to save himself. The town and Geraldine think Kenton is a hero. It is up to Bill to prove otherwise.
